FAR HILLS, NJ - The USGA and The R&A have issued a new Decision on the Rules of Golf to limit the use of video evidence in the game, effective immediately.
The two organizations have also established a working group of LPGA, PGA Tour, PGA European Tour, Ladies European Tour and PGA of America representatives to immediately begin a comprehensive review of broader video issues, including viewer call-ins, which arise in televised competitions.
New Decision 34-3/10 implements two standards for Rules committees to limit the use of video: 1) when video reveals evidence that could not reasonably be seen with the “naked eye,” and 2) when players use their “reasonable judgment” to determine a specific location when applying the Rules. The full language of the Decision can be found here.

I can see it now. I really can.
I didn't realize how much fun golf was until I had cataract surgery a few weeks ago. Surgery corrected my left eye on March 20. One week later, I had surgery on my right eye.
"Texas" Terry Stuart and I played 18 holes at Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club after my last follow-up doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I couldn't believe the difference.
Pausing before I hit my first tee shot, I laughed and said, "I can actually see dimples on the golf ball. I can tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. Shucks, I can see the flag waving in the sun on the green some 500 yards away."
I have always enjoyed golf, but certainly see it in a new light now. Colors are so much more vivid, too.
Yup, it's going to be a great season regardless how well I shoot!
It's time to tee it up at Forest Hills Golf Course in La Crosse.
The front nine holes will open for play on Tuesday March 28, starting at 10 a.m., for walking only. Practice greens will also open on Tuesday.
Carts will be available in the near future as the ground firms up.
Forest Hills is also offering a special nine-hole walking fee of $12, plus tax.
No tee times are required this week, according to course personnel. Play will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Tee times will begin on Monday April 3.
Uno will once again be offered in 2017. All hole-in-ones at Forest Hills will receive a 5 night stay in Mexico compliments of Forest Hills and KemperSports.
